While most people get microneedling to address concerns on the face, it can also be used to treat the neck, decolletage, back and areas where there may be scarring or texture changes. In addition to traditional microneedling, topical solutions such as exosomes, PRP, PRFM, or PDRN can be included for those dealing with hair loss or deeper skin concerns.

Microneedling

Microneedling, a treatment safe for all skin types and tones, effectively addresses fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and crepey skin. It is a quick, minimally invasive procedure that utilizes tiny needles to create microchannels in the skin, stimulating the body’s natural healing process to produce collagen and elastin, thus rejuvenating and improving the skin’s quality and appearance.

Microneedling with PRP

Microneedling with PRP is frequently used to treat hair loss and revive the scalp, promoting hair growth, increasing hair thickness, and preventing premature hair loss. PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) involves the injection of platelet growth factors from your own blood into the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production, as well as improve skin texture and appearance of scars.

Microneedling with PRFM

Microneedling with PRFM is frequently used to reduce dark circles and improve the appearance of the under-eye area and in conjunction with dermal fillers to treat these areas of concern. Though similar to PRP, PRFM (Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix) is a step above, involving a different preparation process that results in a higher concentration of platelets and stronger release of growth factors. PRFM also contains fibrin, a protein that supports tissue repair and regeneration.

Microneedling with Exosomes

Exosomes are naturally occurring particles derived from stem cells that contain growth factors. After your treatment, exosome-rich topical serums can be applied to the skin and enter the micro-channels created from microneedling, delivering growth factors and other proteins to repair the skin, stimulate collagen and elastin production, reduce inflammation, promote anti-aging effects, and improve skin texture, tone, and elasticity.

How It Works

Step 1: Preparation and Numbing

Your appointment begins with an expert skin analysis to determine your treatment goals. Then a topical anesthetic is applied to numb the treatment area.

Step 2: Microneedling

A handheld microneedling pen is glided over the skin to create tiny microchannels, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. During the treatment, specific topicals are applied including hyaluronic acid, PRP, PRFM, exosomes, or polynucleotides.

Step 3: Results Afterwards

Increased collagen and elastin production help smooth fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture and elasticity, and even out
discoloration. You will notice results in the weeks following the
treatment, as well as months after as the collagen continues to form.

Frequently Asked
Questions

Microneedling
Microneedling is an ideal treatment for those looking to improve skin texture and tone, reduce the appearance of scarring, and rejuvenate the skin by boosting collagen production.
Results appear gradually as your body produces new collagen. You will notice an improvement in your skin’s texture and tone within 4-6 weeks, with full results taking up to several months to appear. Depending on the concern being addressed, some people require a series of treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart to achieve their best results.
Most individuals require 3-6 treatments to achieve the best results, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
Downtime is minimal. Immediately after the treatment, you may notice some redness, swelling, and mild skin irritation, which typically lasts for a few hours to a day or two.
We recommend avoiding strenuous activities for the first 24 to 48 hours after your treatment. Excessive sweating can introduce bacteria to the microchannels created during treatment, increasing your risk of infection or irritation.
You must wait 24 hours before applying makeup.

It is highly recommended to schedule a consultation with our providers to assess your skin, discuss your goals, and ensure that microneedling is the correct treatment for you. Additionally, you should inform our providers of any existing skin conditions (e.g., eczema, psoriasis, rosacea) that could affect the treatment’s suitability.

1 week before your appointment, stop using certain skincare products, including retinoids, acid-based skincare, and active ingredients (skincare ingredients that cause physical or chemical exfoliation, e.g., scrubs) to avoid irritation, inflammation, and to reduce sensitivity.

Avoid direct sun exposure to the skin for at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. Wait to book your appointment for 3 weeks to 1 month after being sunburned. If you have a fresh tan – whether artificial or from the sun – wait 2 weeks before booking your appointment.

Topical solutions can be used in conjunction with traditional microneedling to finetune the treatment to best target your specific concerns – including PRP, PRFM, or exosomes.
