How It Works

Step 1: Consultation

A complimentary consultation is first needed to determine if you’re a candidate for Kybella®.

Step 2: Prepping

Once it’s determined Kybella® is a fit for you, your first session begins by cleansing your face, applying a topical anesthetic, and placing a temporary grid that allows your provider to expertly place the injections as needed.

Step 3: Synthetic deoxycholic acid injections

Synthetic deoxycholic acid is artfully injected into the selected areas to begin breaking down fat.

Step 4: Enjoy the benefits

You’ll start to see results after 2-4 sessions—fat reduction and contouring of the face as a result.

The destruction of the fat cells is permanent. However, additional cells may always form depending on exercise, diet, and overall lifestyle. It’s encouraged to maintain a healthy diet and regular exercise routine throughout this process to avoid weight fluctuations that may impact the elasticity of the skin.

It depends. While the injections themselves are relatively painless due to the tiny needle and the targeted area , you will likely experience a moderate burning sensation within a few minutes as the deoxycholic acid begins working. This sensation varies significantly from person to person and depends on individual pain tolerance. Applying ice immediately after the treatment can significantly reduce discomfort.

A Kybella® treatment takes about 60 minutes.
You may experience redness, swelling, bruising, numbness, and general discomfort for up to 1 week after your treatment. You should aim to sleep on your back with your head elevated for 1 night after your treatment & avoid alcohol, nicotine, and smoking for 2 days following your treatment.
Avoid strenuous exercise or any other activities that make you sweat for a few days following your treatment.
For most, results begin to appear after 2-4 sessions. Additional treatments may be needed to achieve desired results; you can receive a maximum of 6 treatments within a 6 month period.
Avoid alcoholic beverages, nicotine, and smoking for 2 nights before your appointment. Also avoid aspirin and NSAIDs like Aleve, Motrin, and Advil, for 3 days before your appointment to help prevent bruising.
